Golden State Foods is a company based on solid values and ethics. As a natural extension of these values, GSF has extended itself into an effort to help the less fortunate through its newly developed Foundation.

The GSF Foundation is a non-profit organization that was established to help children and families in the areas where its associates live and work through personal involvement and contributions. Building upon the existing charitable involvement of its associates, the GSF Foundation partners with local charities nominated by GSF employees, benefiting a variety of worthy organizations and individuals throughout the country. Some have included: Children’s Arthritis Foundation, National MS Society, Special Olympics, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Shoes that Fit, Make-a-Wish, and Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation.

Ronald McDonald House Charities has partnered with the Foundation on a national scale as its initial lead charity. A natural extension of GSF’s long-time relationship with McDonald’s, the Ronald McDonald Houses will provide GSF volunteers further opportunities for service and contributions in their local areas. Funds are split between the RMHC and the various local charities and remain in the local areas where they are raised. And because the GSF Foundation is staffed 100 percent by volunteers, financial contributions go directly to help those in need.

The GSF Foundation operates under the direction of an executive board, which includes national representation from local committees—all comprised of GSF volunteers. Thus, the GSF associates are actively involved in collectively determining who will receive benefits while also enjoying opportunities to live out the company’s creed and values together.

We extend this opportunity to help us help kids by inviting you to support one of our upcoming events. GSF is currently planning a Texas Hold’Em Poker Tournament Fundraiser.

Thanks again for your valued association with GSF and especially, for remembering the children.

Sincerely,

Mark Halpern
Portland Chairperson
